ENGLISH Application for monitoring the average speed. It's a supporting tool for driving in presence of SICVE (speed control system) commonly known as tutor or to control the progress of a journey. The speed can be expressed in kilometers per hour or miles per hour. AUTO When the program activates, it monitors the presence of GPS devices SICVE tutor nearby. When the device detects the presence of such a device starts automatically monitoring the average speed. The device list stored in the official list is drawn from sites: Motorways for Italy and the State Police (July 2009). Using the appropriate slider control, you should enter the speed limit imposed. When you overcome this limit, the program will display a red LED and an audible alarm, while below the threshold it display a green LED. The alarm sound can switch on and off. MANUAL Acting on the appropriate switch, START and STOP buttons appear for manual handling. START: the detection of average speed is started manually. When the GPS signal is fixed, the software starts to count elapsed time and distance. With these data, the average speed is calculated and is shown on screen. Pressing the START button will reset the counts and the calculation of average starts from the next GPS fix. STOP: Stop the detection of average speed. N O T E S: Even in countries outside of Italy you can use the tool in manual mode. Just the program is started, you may show abnormal values of average speed, this is due to successive approximations of the position during stabilization phase of the GPS signal. Normally, after a few minutes, these anomalies become negligible. Once the GPS signal becomes more stable (the speed indicated by the program is approaching the speed of your odometer), you press the START button to reset the account and restart the calculation of average speed. Because of the approximation, the accuracy of the GPS position is estimated with an error of + - 6%. The program integrate only Italian SICVE points of interest.
